Support Beam's campaign to develop our historic Orangery

Our grade II* Orangery is a unique green oasis in the heart of Wakefield, Beam is seeking to develop the building and grounds to become a vibrant and exciting multi-use arts venue and resource for the people of the city, artists, performers, writers and visitors, contributing to Wakefield's growing cultural offer.

The Orangery, the home of Beam art and architecture centre, has great potential – a delightful space located by the mainline train station – but which historically has been hidden from view and lies below the level of the surrounding city.

We want to animate the public spaces in the garden and gallery area - using our arts and cultural heritage knowledge - to create spaces that people want to hire for pleasure, for work, and to perform in and which are used for a wide variety of cultural events.

We want the whole community to benefit from this tranquil oasis in the heart of the city centre. But we need your help to do this…
